Harmonyjunky: Shire choir, Shrewsbury

SEVERN SOUL HARMONY Wednesday evenings, 6.15-7.30pm.

Quaker Centre, Corporation Lane, Coton Hill, Shrewsbury, SY1 2NU

2019 dates: Choir starts again weekly on Wed Jan 9th

We particularly welcome new singers at the start of term and the half term.

Shire Choir was started in 2014 to benefit the health and wellbeing of the people working at Shire Hall.

It grew and joined with the NHS and people working at RSH and PRH also sing with us now. Basically, anyone who feels they fancy a sing, on the way home from work or otherwise, is welcome to join us at the Shire Hall at 5.15 for a de-stress, a good laugh and some juicy harmonies and beautiful songs to help you to sing your cares away.

After you’ve tried a taster or 2 you’ll be asked to ‘Sign Up’ for 6 sessions.

We love meeting in the Council Chambers because the room has surprisingly good acoustics. We sing for our own enjoyment and unwind after work before going home.

We do occasionally get involved in local projects and sing at Christmas to raise money for charity. We sang in a concert as part of a ‘Compassion Conference’ organised by The Darwin International Institute for the Study of Compassion

Shire Choir has been involved with Sing for Water Shrewsbury and the Winter Gathering  that cheers us all up with a big sing in Winter.

Some of the singers have also enjoyed the Borth Residential Sing.
